La Bagatelle, St Lucia – Embedded in a lush tropical mountainside, La Bagatelle feels like a luxurious treehouse. Open on almost all sides, the two-bedroom aerie provides a stunning bird’s-eye view of the cone-shaped peaks of St. Lucia’s dramatic twin Pitons. Framed by broad palms, vivid tropical blooms and bamboo, the villa’s ingenious open-air design blends effortlessly with its spectacular surroundings.

Villa Kubu, BaliVilla Kubu spreads out over seemingly endless space. The modernist mansion spans 7,500 square feet, with sleek, unbroken lines and floor-to-ceiling glass doors. Outside, the views over the Indian Ocean extend as far as the eye can see from the cascading edge of the 27-foot infinity pool. The villa’s décor cleverly uses repetition and reflection to add to the immeasurable impression of the house. The real secret to the vast feel of Kubu, though, is the ocean view from every room.

Stargazer, Turks and Caicos Islands – On a secluded half-mile stretch of shoreline west of Grace Bay Beach, Stargazer is straight out of MTV’s Cribs. The sprawling three-building property houses a full-size ballet studio, turtle-filled grotto and private movie theater, garden-filled grounds, a tennis court and a dramatic infinity pool, a sauna and so much more. There are also all the normal things you'd expect to find in a vacation home: an airy great room, with vaulted ceilings and wicker and rattan furnishings; an elegant dining room for ten, with ocean views; and six bedrooms spread among the main house and outbuildings. And despite the priceless collectibles and extravagant chef-prepared meals, the place has a comfortable, lived-in vibe.
